Being an Edmund customer, you automatically gain access to the Edmund Emergency Response Unit, provided by our Emergency and Expert Response partner, KPMG.
Edmund has partnered with KPMG to provide the initial support you need in an emergency following discovery of a Cyber Breach or Cyber Threat of Extortion.
If you suspect you have suffered a Cyber Breach or Cyber Threat of Extortion call 1800 316 767 immediately for 24/7 emergency and expert assistance.
Please be prepared with the following information: Policy Number, Names of the Insured and the Insured’s contact person authorised by the Insured to lead and liaise in this matter on behalf of the Insured, E-mail address, Phone Number, and Description of the incident.
KPMG will collect your information and identify (and investigate, if necessary) the nature and scope of the incident, i.e. the Who, What, When, Where, How and Why. Having gained an understanding of the issue, KPMG will provide you with initial advice intended to minimise impact to your business.
An assessment will be made as to whether or not the incident and resultant loss is covered, i.e. if a valid claim can be made against your Policy.
If it is not a claim as a result of a Cyber Breach or any Cyber Threat of Extortion, but possibly a claim under another Cover of your Policy, e.g. a Third Party Liability Claim against you, KPMG will redirect you to Edmund for notification of the Claim.
If the incident does not fall within any Cover under your Policy, you will be advised that your claim is not accepted and a brief explanation will be provided., i.e. you will be uninsured for this incident and any resultant loss. Therefore, you will need to urgently engage appropriate service providers to act on your behalf and at your own expense.
If your claim is assessed as a valid claim under your Policy, you will be required to engage KPMG (via a signed Engagement Letter) to provide the incident response services to you as an Insured of Edmund. You will also be required to provide a pre-authorisation of your credit card to the amount of your applicable deductible. Please note no funds will be debited from your credit card until the required KPMG emergency and event recovery costs, to assist your business, have been incurred.
As part of the acceptance of your claim, immediate legal support and forensic assistance will be provided to manage and resolve the Cyber Breach and any Cyber Threat of Extortion. Emergency and Expert Response Costs and Event Recovery Costs are two of the Covers within your Policy.
